1 Governor's School for the Arts: Free ArtShops are available in Louisville at Sacred Heart School for the Arts on November 19th.
Students can register for the ArtShops online at the GSA website located at www.kentuckygsa.org At these Art Shops students can
receive training and feedback on their auditions/portfolios and compare themselves to other students that may be applying from our
region of the state. ArtShops are available to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Current sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply
also by filling out an application for an audition/or review for the three week summer program at www.kentuckygsa.org A printable
application is also available on line for students, teachers, and parents. In their applications students need to include:

2. Phillips Academy in Andover MA Mathematics and Science Summer Programs for Minority Students
June 26 - August 1, 2012. For talented and economically disadvantaged 9th grade African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native
American Students - this is an opportunity to experience:
3 tuition free summers at one of the best boarding schools in the country challenge yourself and make new friends in an exciting
five-week academic program join a multicultural community and meet students from around the country and the world learn

3. Spoleto Italy Study Abroad Program July 7 - July 29, 2012
This is a premier arts and humanities immersion program for high school students. The 2012 experience will include: VOCAL MUSIC -
PHOTOGRAPHY - VISUAL ARTS - CREATIVE WRITING - DRAMA. Additional courses are available in Introductory Italian, Art and Ideas,
Art and architecture, the History of Opera, etc.
Located in the historic town of Spoleto, Italy, this study abroad opportunity offers students the chance to work closely with talented
faculty and motivated peers from around the world, to grow artistically, academically, and personally. Bring your own unique talents,
energy, and creativity to student in this vibrant environment, involved in hands-on workshops, studios, and classes, traveling twice a
week to magnificent cities in Umbria and Tuscany, including Florence, Tivoli, and Orvieto.

4. MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) Pre College Studio Residency Programs 2012
Baltimore Maryland - June 23-July 21, 2012
Tuscany, Italy - June 23 - July 16, 2012
Baltimore - the Pre-College Residency Program in Baltimore offers rising high school juniors and seniors a college-level art experience
at MICA, a leader in art and design college education. Students live in Baltimore, at the heart of the east coast cultural corridor, exploring
the galleries and museums of both New York and Washington D.C., while they enhance their portfolio and earn Three College Credits.
Studio Courses Include: Drawing and Painting the Figure; Illustration; Graphic Design; Architecture; Sculpture; Photography;
Gaming/Animation; Video; Fiber/Fashion.
Workshops Include: Artists' Books; Figure Drawing; Graphic Design; Web Portfolio Development; Sculpture; Ceramics; Illustration;
Product Design; art History; Video

5. Tuscany - the International Pre-College Residency Program in Tuscany offers rising high school juniors and seniors a college level
studio experience in the tradition of MICA's renowned study abroad programs. Students live and study in the Monte Amiata region of
Italy while they draw and paint the landscape. Field trips to Florence and other cultural venues throughout the region provide insight
into the Renaissance and its continuing influence on modern and contemporary art. Students earn Two College Credits.

6. Murray State University Racer Days - Located in Murray Kentucky, MSU will be holding their annual Racer Days on Saturday Sept. 24
from 12:00 - 5 PM; Wednesday Nov. 2 from 8:30 - 1 PM; Thursday March 29 from 12:00 - 5 PM
At Racer Days sessions you may receive financial aid and scholarship information, explore academic interests, and tour the campus. No

7. Educational Justice Scholarship Program
These programs are valued at approximately $4,000 and offer free tutoring and standardized test preparation to qualifying students in
the Jefferson County Public Schools. A non-profit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged students, Educational Justice
aspires to provide all students with an equal opportunity at a top-quality education and a successful future. Through it's partnership
with Louisville Tutoring Agency, Educational Justice supports scholarship recipients through free group classes in homework help and
standardized test preparation, as well as one-on-one tutoring sessions for grades 9-12. For more information about Educational Justice

8. Tisch School of the Arts at New York University Summer Arts Program for High School Students
New York University is now accepting applications for the 2012 summer high school program. Current high school sophomores and
juniors have an opportunity to spend four weeks in New York City, Dublin, or Singapore. Students earn six college credits and receive
professional training in acting, dramatic writing, filmmaking, musical theatre, photography and imaging, or recorded music. Class time
is coupled with the arts and culture of the host city, including visits to ethnic neighborhoods, museum, theatrical productions, concerts,
and screenings. It's been known to be a summer unlike any other. Application Deadline - Monday February 6, 2012

9. Technology Program for Ages 14-21 at the Louisville Urban League
You may be eligible to join the National Digital Connectors Movement, an exciting technology-based youth development project of the
Louisville Urban Leagues Project Ready Program. Digital Connectors combines leadership development, digital education, and life
skills management with a primary goal to empower its members to raise digital awareness and literacy among their family members,
peer groups, and neighborhoods.
