JV Cindy Sysol Cindy will be entering her fourth season as the head coach of the JV girl's soccer team and assistant varsity coach. A native of Louisville, KY, she graduated from the University of Louisville in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and in 2008 with a Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, and is a member of the Kentucky bar. She has played soccer for over 15 years beginning with the Louisville Soccer Club. She was a four year varsity starter as well as co-captain for Assumption High School from 1998-2001. During that time she also played on the state winning Javanon '83 team. She has over 6 years of coaching experience including several seasons with Louisville Soccer Alliance U-12 girl's team. She also has led the JV Lady Crimsons to two undefeated seasons and multiple tournament wins. |
Rick Underwood heads into his sixth season as the head coach after serving as assistant coach at Georgetown College for seven years, and head girl's coach at Louisville Male High School for six years. In his seven years as an assistant at Georgetown College, he was instrumental in raising the funds for a new soccer complex, organizing trips to Europe and Mexico, recruiting outstanding players, and helping the Tigers place in the top of its conference each year. Underwood's 20 years of coaching experience include being girl's & women's coordinator and coach at the Bon Air Soccer Club and the Louisville Soccer Club. He has been responsible for bringing U.S. National Women's Team players and coaches to Kentucky, providing area players with unique learning opportunities. Underwood and several others were instrumental in getting high school girl's soccer sanctioned in Kentucky. Coach Underwood holds the National Soccer Coaches Association's National and Advanced National Diplomas and he is a licensed USSF coach. He serves as a coaching instructor for the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association and he has authored articles in the International Soccer Journal. Since taking over at Dupont Manual, his teams have improved each year winning numerous District, Regional, and Sub-Sectional titles and being consistently ranked in the state top 10 poll. For the first time in the history of the program, his 2008 team was ranked in the 20 nationally early in the season. Some fifteen of his players have gone on to play collegiate soccer. Currently, Underwood teaches psychology and sociology at Brown Mackie College, owns and operates the Next Level Institute and Leadership Management Institute, is nationally known professional speaker and author, and pastors a small church in Shelby County. He is married to Brenda and they have three children and six grandchildren. |
